GHMP kinase, ATP-binding, conserved site The galacto- (<db_xref db="EC" dbkey="2.7.1.6"/>), homoserine (<db_xref db="EC" dbkey="2.7.1.39"/>), mevalonate (<db_xref db="EC" dbkey="2.7.1.36"/>) and phosphomevalonate (<db_xref db="EC" dbkey="2.7.4.2"/>) kinases contain, in their N-terminal section, a conserved Gly/Ser-rich region which is probably involved in the binding of ATP [, ]. This group of kinases has been called 'GHMP' (from the first letter of their substrates).
